Moved in- it's official!

I just wanted to make a quick post to update everyone that we are officially moved in! I am typing this in bed in our brand new bedroom in the house!  Our friends and especially our families and parents did SO much to help us with the move and get settled in so quickly.  Our house is completely liveable with all of the rooms functional, blinds up, etc.  AND...I still have not had the baby!  So based on my first post ever, I said we will all get to see if we make it into the house before the baby - and we did!  His room is semi ready.  Unfortunately the nursery furniture is on backorder - but the glider is all set up along with a bassinet and rock n play sleeper and all of his other stuff from the showers.  There is obviously still a lot to do to get settled in and boxes everywhere, but I'd say we are officially in and ready for this baby at any time!  I'm so excited to be able to bring him home to the new house after we have him!

here are a few pictures of the move.  It was so busy that I didn't take many.  I'm also very happy that our parents helped us bust out painting 2 rooms - the baby's room and family room.  Here are some shots of the family room.

These were taken yesterday and it already looks worlds better and more put together.  I will post some pictures soon of it looking more put together, but for the meantime I want to conclude with - WE DID IT!!! :-)

Final Walk Through - TOMORROW!

Hi all,

The time has finally come and it's the week we've been anticipating since January.  I'm now 38 weeks pregnant, tomorrow is our final walk through of the house, Wednesdays is CLOSING day and Saturday is our official move in day!  I can't believe we've made it this far and how fast the time has flown by.  I can obviously have the baby at any time now, so i don't even want to say anything to jinx it...but we are so close!  On Wednesday we'll officially begin moving things in on our own we also plan to get 2 rooms painted before Saturday.  I obviously am 'out' when it comes to lifting things or painting, but I'm going to try to make myself as useful as possible. It'll all be thanks to kevin and our family & friends for making everything happen.

Kevin and I have been busy little bees lately!  We've been sniffing out deals to purchase all the big items still needed for the house. On Friday the fruits of our labor and the damage done to our credit card will pay off when all of these big items are delivered and installed in the house - a sectional couch, refrigerator, washer & dryer and kitchen table.  With the baby coming, we also wanted to frontload as much shopping as possible so we've bought so many other things like blinds, a ceiling fan, new bedding, a new bathroom set, rugs, etc.  I'm SO excited to see how all this stuff finally comes together in the house after picturing it for months! We've also had 2 baby showers since being out of our townhouse - you can imagine just how much stuff we have everywhere!  All of these items are all crammed in places like our cars, our in laws where we're staying and our storage locker.   It seems like our stuff is overflowing all unorganized everywhere, so we are so excited to finally get settled in.

Back to the actual progress of the house - it's DONE!  Enjoy the photos below:

As you can see- we are ready and raring to go!  It's obviously going to be a crazy week and who knows when the baby is coming - he can come any day now!   So we'll see how long it'll be for my next post when everything is all done and we are all moved in.  But we cannot wait!! Thanks to all of those reading and keeping up with these posts and sorry for my big lulls in between posts!  Wish us luck this week!

Drywall - FINALLY!

Hi All,

So last week was such a disappointment that I didn't even post anything.  We did our pre-drywall walk on Thursday, April 11.  On Monday and Wednesday of last week, I had plans to stop over after work, where kevin told me it wasn't worth it because the dry wall was still not up!  Yet it had been delivered and sitting in the middle of the floor.  Also as of Wednesday our exterior stone had arrived.  I finally made my way over on Thursday.  I'm not going to lie- I was close to irate!  Mostly because I went to go into the house and it was all locked up.  We never had warning when it would officially be locked and that we weren't given a key!! So I wasn't able to get in at all, and when I walked around and peeked through windows, I saw there was still no drywall up and it was just sitting on the floor!! To top things off, a house a few down that was framed about week after ours already had their exterior brick all in.  As an 8 month pregnant woman - I was very unhappy.

Kevin talked to the project manager on Friday and called him out that they did nothing this week and he basically agreed and apologized saying the drywall company was all backed up and couldn't get to it.  He also then told us that we won't be getting our own construction key and will have to get it from the office each time when it's locked up. Oy...

At least they redeemed themselves today.  We went by expecting only the possibility of some exterior work done since the project manager said that is what they were working on this weekend.  Well, when we got there - no exterior!  We got the key in a bad mood and made our way over - only to find when we walked in...the house was FULLY DRYWALLED!!! Now we are talking!!

I feel like we are back in business!  Obviously I took a million photos that I wanted to share on here.  Enjoy:

There you have it!  It's starting to look like a house now- that's for sure!

In other news, yesterday Kevin and I spent the day at our childbirth class.  Things are really starting to feel real for us with that class.  Luckily the videos weren't to scary and it did make us feel more prepared for the big day.  I just can't believe how close it is!  I'm 33 weeks as of today.  Only 4 weeks until I'm considered full term!

How did this time fly by so fast??
